6 Elegant Luxury Hotels in Québec City to Make You Gush
Fairmont Château Frontenac
Quite possibly one of the most famous hotels in Canada, Fairmont Château Frontenac sits atop Cap Diamant, overlooking the Saint-Lawrence River and Old Québec City. A château-style hotel built by Canadian Pacific Railway, Château Frontenac has been a top hotel since its opening in 1888. The interior is decorated with rich royal blue and brushed gold, a mixture of the intricate historical details and modern touches add to the hotel’s opulence.
Lounge in bed, sip fine wine, and nibble on Québec cheese at 1608 Wine & Cheese Bar, sip old fashion cocktails with a twist at Le Sam, treat yourself to an unforgettable afternoon tea experience, and definitely indulge in a gourmet dinner at Champlain Restaurant. Seriously, Chef Stéphane Modat is incredibly talented. The hotel’s pool, salon, and spa are added bonuses.

Auberge Saint-Antoine has been one of our favourite luxury hotels in Québec City for quite a while. Owned by the Price family, Auberge Saint-Antoine is most famous for its historical artefacts, which are displayed throughout the hotel, as well as its restaurant, Chez Muffy (formerly Panache). Close to the cruise ship port in Québec City, as well as the Historic District of Old Québec, Auberge Saint-Antoine is an ideal starting point for a Québec City vacation.
Sleep in, tour the various artefact displays throughout the hotel, slurp down fresh oysters and sip cocktails in Bar Artefact, and dine on Canadian-inspired dishes in Chez Muffy (most ingredients are grown locally on the hotel’s farm). Oh, and try not to swoon too much if you spot a famous guest in the elevator.
Hotel Le Germain Québec
The first hotel established by the Germain family, Le Germain Québec is on a quiet corner close to Place FAO and some of the best restaurants in Old Port, Québec City. Le Germain Hotels are known for their superior personal service and insanely comfortable beds.
Relax in their lounge and read a book by the fire, or enjoy the sunshine from their patio, and sleep in whenever possible. The rooms are modern contemporary in style with Québec inspirations throughout and Canadian-made furniture. Truly a hotel that will make you feel as though you are not a guest, but a member of the family.
Another one of our favourite luxury hotels in Québec City, Hotel 71 has a modern contemporary design with velvety ruby red accents. The lobby features a self-serve wine bar (nothing quite like buying a glass of wine and having it automatically added to your room bill!) as well as a boutique which includes Québec and Canadian-made products.
Wander through their small gallery space to admire pieces by local artists, as well as the stunning pieces displayed in the windows at the entrance of the hotel. Rooms are a good size with velvety ruby red curtains, soft beds, and views of the city as well as the Saint-Lawrence River. Craving Italian food? Matto 71 is located on the hotel’s main floor and serves up some of the best Italian food in Old Québec City.
Hotel Manoir Victoria
Located close to the action of rue Saint-Jean, Hotel Manoir Victoria is a beautiful hotel with vibrant accents. Similar to most luxury hotels in Québec City, Manoir Victoria’s decor is modern-contemporary as well.
Treat yourself to a massage in the hotel’s spa, or enjoy their pool. After a long day of experiencing the best things to do in Québec City, slip on a plush robe, and get cozy in bed to read or watch a movie. For a truly unique dining experience, try Chez Boulay, which has an entrance from the hotel’s lobby. One of the best places to try Boréal cuisine which highlights ingredients like wild game, berries, and herbs.
Hotel Le Bonne Entente
Located about 20 minutes from Old Québec City, Hotel Le Bonne Entente is the perfect choice if you’re looking for a quiet getaway. Le Bonne Entente offers everything from fine dining to luxurious rooms, an outdoor pool, and upscale spa experiences.
One of the best luxury hotels in Québec City, Le Bonne has a superb fun club for children and spacious rooms and offers chauffeur service into the city for shopping and exploring. A resort-style hotel which will spoil you in every possible way.
