Les Loges Ressourcement in the Eastern Townships

Les Loges Ressourcement, Private Spa Chalet Review

Last Updated on October 17, 2024 by Pamela MacNaughtan

In a forested area twenty minutes south of Magog, Les Loges Ressourcement offers a dreamy private spa chalet retreat. Lovely in summer, but best enjoyed in late autumn or through the chilly Quebec winter months when one’s brain and body are craving all things snuggly and warm.

Or when the rigours of day-to-day life become overwhelming and you need a small escape to relax and reset.

There are a lot of chalets in Quebec to discover. In the Bas-Saint-Laurent region, Vieux Loup de Mer is my favourite. In the Eastern Townships, Les Loges Resourcement is where I want to hibernate and reset.

A Private Spa Experience? Yes, Please!

When it comes to chalets in Quebec, Les Loges Ressourcement is one of the most unique. It’s where boutique chalets and Nordic spas entwine. I love visiting Nordic spas in Quebec, but having the same experience in a private setting is infinitely better.

The chalets at Les Loges come with a hot tub (spa), hammam (steam shower), outdoor cold water shower, and sauna. Everything one needs for a rejuvenating thermal spa experience.

How to have a thermal spa experience at Les Loges Ressourcement

After showering with my bathing suit on, I quickly stepped outside, took the top of the hot tub and slipped into the hot water. I’ll admit, we stayed in the hot tub longer than 15 minutes the first time. After a day of driving around the Eastern Townships, sitting in hot water and looking up at a starry sky was pure magic.

Getting out of the hot tub itself was our cold cycle, as the temperature was -4ºC (haha). The curvy lounge chairs set between the hot tub and sauna would be a lovely place to relax, but as I craved warmth, I headed to the small sauna room. You can relax and enjoy a hot cycle, right?

The beauty of Les Loges Ressourcement is that everything you need for a Nordic spa thermal experience is right at your fingertips. Sure, there is a set method, but ignoring the method and doing what’s best for you is great too.

I could have fallen asleep while sitting on the warm tiled bench inside the hammam, letting hot water pelt my body after an hour outside in the cold late-autumn night.

The chalets at Les Loges Ressourcement are boxy and sleek, with floor-to-ceiling windows and concrete floors (which are heated, yay!). There’s a fancy-looking wood fireplace and a side deck with a BBQ and hammock. The kitchen is cozy and fully equipped, making it easy for gourmands to enhance their stay with meals made with Quebec terroir.

The sofa converts to a bed, which came in handy as I was staying at the chalet with a friend (although a man may have been more fun… ).

The bedroom in the chalet is large, with a crazy amount of storage space. It’s an uncommon feature, but I’m a Virgo and I appreciate the ability to be organized at all times.

The queen-sized bed is quite comfortable, thankfully, and overlooks the hot tub and surrounding forest. There’s a door that leads outside, and the steam shower (hammam) can be accessed from the bedroom, as well as the hallway.

The harmony between the living spaces of the chalet and the thermal spa features is a welcome treat.

Delve Into Local Terroir

The Eastern Townships is one of my favourite regions in Quebec for day trips and getaways. It’s filled with charming towns, exciting cities, and gorgeous landscapes. Plus, it’s only a 2-3 hour drive from Quebec City. C’est parfait!

As a foodie, every getaway I go on includes explorations into local terroir. On my trip to Les Loges Ressourcement, I started with a stopover in Sherbrooke. The first stop was Siboire Microbrasserie for pumpkin beer (seasonal) and lunch (it was the last day of Met la Table). Then there was a stop at OMG Burgers (it’s inside a decommissioned church!) for a cocktail and then dinner at Comme Chez Soi.

While staying at the chalet we popped into Magog for coffee at Café Géogène and an excellent wine tasting at Vignoble Le Cep d’Argent. There were burgers at Burger Pub in Orford, and delicious fish n’ chips at La Knowlton Co. in Knowlton.

We also did a little food shopping for cheese from Fromagerie La Station (based in Compton), local dried sausage and other snacks for when we felt peckish.

A Perfect Getaway from Quebec City

Only a three-hour drive from Quebec City, Les Loges Ressourcement is a perfect getaway destination. I love that it gives me a chance to see (and experience) more of the Eastern Townships.

We fumbled with the door code when we arrived, but for the most part, our stay was quite smooth. The sofa bed mattress could be a little more comfortable, but the bed in the bedroom was quite good.

There is a great book outlining everything one needs to know about the chalet, how things work, and what needs to be done before check-out.

Overall, Les Loges Ressourcement is a lovely boutique chalet stay. I will go back, possibly alone or for a bit of romance, who knows!

To book a chalet, visit their website here. Be sure to give yourself room to explore the local food scene, and take advantage of the chalet’s kitchen and BBQ as well.

My stay with Les Loges Ressourcement was complimentary, but my love for it is pure. It’s beautiful and relaxing. And I dream of the spa features, daily. It’s a great spot for a luxury getaway.
